Saltwater Reclaimed Charleston specializes in finding and using the discarded pieces you see in the waters or on the beaches and turning them into statement pieces on your home. We try not to buy any wood but use the materials around us. Out on the waters or walk the beaches to find wood that we could turn into a mantle or an entryway table. We also pick up trees that have fallen or people have taken down. Even as far as to go to Tennessee and North Carolina to pick up logs and bring them back to Charleston to be slabbed out for tables, shelves, and furniture. Even in our shop, we use the cut-offs and scraps of the other woodworkers to make charcuterie boards, cutting boards, coasters, and ashtrays. We try not to buy any wood if we can help it. But there are the occasional times when we do an entertainment center or a built-in bookshelf. Even then we try and use as much of the wood that we have saved as we can.
